Sometimes? Technology sucks.

I did not think that I would ever be one to loudly proclaim that, but here we are.

We've moved to an online registration system at school because the telephone regestration system was a complete antique. Yay, right?

My file is one of the ones that has been hit by a glitch that locks both myself and system administrators out. This happened last Friday, and the woman I've been talking to has been wonderful, but it is still not fixed.

In the meantime, the three classes that I had left to register in first term have reached their enrollment limits. Juggling the prereqs for both degrees I'm working on requires I take those NOW.

Apparently, someone called my grandma's (which I still have listed as my home number) about an opening in one class that they might have. She gave them my Swift number, and there's no message on my machine. I'm leaving town right after work tomorrow.

My eye is twitching, just a little.

Dude, the same damn thing happened to me last semester. I got a letter from the computer centre and took it to my dean, who went to bat for me against the registrar until they gave me my classes. If you don't get the ones you need, give that a try. Be so annoyingly persistent that they'll do anything to get rid of you. I am convinced that's the only reason I got what I needed. Like my dad told me when I came back to school: "Never forget that YOU are the customer. They wouldn't have jobs without you."

They're trying to be helpful, and I feel bad for them, but.

I'm not locked out any more, but there's something else wrong and I'm still not in four correct classes T1 and T2.

GAH.

I've had online registration systems screw me in similar ways as well. Once I never got notified about my bill, and because I didn't pay it dropped me from the classes I needed, which were filled by the time I found out and tried to reregister. Hope you have better luck with yours!

Gah. I *really* hope you manage to sort it all out. And, yeah. I hate online enrolment systems - I was dis-approved for two of my subjects, had the system refuse to acknowledge a subject change and a tute change over the last two weeks.

Well, I'm not locked out of the system any more, but something else is fucked up, and I'm still not in four of my T1 and T2 classes, and their registration is closed.

Shit, mate. Can you speak to the lecturers in charge of the subjects and explain what happend? They might be able to sort something out.

All is now right with the world. I have my overrides for everything. *G*
