I -- really have nothing of interest to say. Price of gas still sucks, I still have two weeks left of moving on weekends, cross-province.
Also, HTML can bite me. *works on updates*
To distract myself:
1) Name a pairing (in a fandom I'm familiar with) and I will write one line of a story for it.
and/or
2) Ask me my opinion on any character from any fandom, and I will say. If I do not know the fandom, I will say what I think I know based on fannish osmosis.
Fandoms: I'm quite pan-fannish these days. Give me a go.

2. Tell me about your favourite Firefly character. (I've never seen any episodes! I fail at fandom!)

1. The first time Rodney and John have sex, fully one quarter of the systems in Atlantis overload.
2. This is hard. There are a number of characters I love from this show, all for different reasons. To me, it really is an ensemble cast, which is part of the reason I don't really do pairing in the fandom. I love me some Firefly gen.
I love Kaylee because she's bright and sunny and doesn't know just how remarkable she is in personality and intelligence.
I love Mal because he's cynical, pragmatic, and loyal to the ends of the earth.
I love Zoe because she is the single most capable woman I have seen on TV without being overwhelming or Mary-Sueish. Che is absolutely unshakeable, and her odd moments of vulnerability are easy to miss.

1. Ahahahaha! And that this is an entirely plausible way to start an SGA fic is what makes the fandom such a *cool* special hell. *g*
2. See, and now I want to see the show. Well, okay, it's not *all* your fault--the Serenity trailer certainly helped. ::sigh:: Like I need another fandom. :)

2. See, the neat thing about Firefly is that there is no special hell. It's well-written and all that jazz, and you should really get thee to a video store and borrow the DVDs (so that you can later give in and buy said DVDs).

I'm so blaming this on you, for making me think of them in such close succession.
There are so many reasons that this is a bad idea.

2) Thatcher from due South

She hangs them to dry, the one's he's stepped on, as he stammer and appologizes.
It's the reason she lets him take her out again. Yellow roses.
No one's ever asked for her friendship first.
2. Though I enjoy Thatcher when she's being officious and irritating and eager, I find that her quasi-romance with Fraser makes me uncomfortable. It feels -- forced, and wrong for both characters. It seems as though it's tacked on randomly; like the writers felt they had to continue the running gag of everyone falling for Fraser, without any real thought as to how it would play out.

To err is human, to forgive divine, but though Giles is a watcher he is only human. There are days when he can hardly bring himself to look at her, mornings when they lie in his bed (she sleeping, he staring up at the ceiling and hearing Buffy's sobs) that all he wants to do it turn his back on her.
Gypsy or no, betrayal or no, he still loves her, and they get more devine with each day.

She was good in the JLU episode that I saw, where she and Green Lantern were trying to track down Wild Cat and save him from himself.
