[livejournal.com profile] gen_fen

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, I am proud to present the grand opening of [livejournal.com profile] gen_fen, a multifandom hub for gen fan fiction.

If you're interested (and especially if you indicated that interest in my poll on the subject), please consider joining. If you join, please feel free to post. I'd like to get a good kick off.

I'm going to submit this to some of the community newsletter for the Monday editions, so if there are any fandoms you'd like to see added to the community interests, or anything you'd like added to, or modified in, the FAQ, please let me know.

If any of you who are interested happen to be so inclined, I would adore it if you were to pimp this out in your own LJs.

Only new stories, though, right? Because I have nothing new that's even remotely ready to post.

I think that for the first week or two I'm going to allow the posting of older stories (as long as it's not a multipost dump of every gen story someone has ever written) so that we have visible community activity.

I really don't expect that people have gen stories sitting around, waiting to pounce on a community I said I might start at some point in the near future. *G*

I'm hoping an early show of activity will help convince people who don't happen to be on my flist that yes, this community will see a decent number of stories, despite its panfannish nature.

Unless, of course, I hear sentiment that it should be new stories only, even at the start. *G*

I think it'd be a great idea to allow people to post one or two of their older stories to kick things off. That way there'll be something to see right away when new people come looking.

(Yay, by the way! It looks great. :)

That's what I was thinking. I don't want to be the first one to post a story, though, as I think it might look self-serving. So. *pokes [livejournal.com profile] sprat*

(And thank you!)

Darn you! Now I'm going to have to finish that gen fic I started AGES ago!

Mwhahahaha.

(Mine is an evil laugh.)
