I'm still rebuilding my music collection from the great reformat of '06, but it's been a while since I did a music post.

1. Brokeback Mountain OST. I've stuck the entire soundtrack in a zip file, so it's one download. It's a mix -- old school country, new artists covering the old school, instrumental music, and Rufus Wainwright

2. Uraqt - M.I.A.. I'm kind of in love with M.I.A. at the moment. Her father was a revolutionary and she grew up all over the world. She's at this strange international corner of hip hop, dance, and pop. I found that her album Arular took a bit of getting used to, but it was well worth the effort.

3. For the Widows in Paradise, For the Fatherless in Ypsilanti - Sufjan Stevens. I kind of adore Sufjan, and this is one of my favourites of his. Twangy, yet melodic, folk.

4. Santa Fe - Rent Soundtrack. My favourite song from Rent. Sweet and low, simple and jazzy. About wanting to be anywhere else. If anyone's interested in the entire soundtrack (or specific other songs), just let me know.

5. Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da - The Beatles. Probably my favourite Beatles tune.

6. Ghost World - Aimee Mann. There's something about the simplicity and honesty of this song that I just adore.

7. Wash My Hands - Meredith Brooks. Meredith is best known for her one hit single, Bitch. I was really quite fond of that entire album, and of large parts of its successor.

8. The Highwayman - Willie Nelson. Because it's a classic, and because last time I did song quotes meme, not a one of you caught this one.

Right click, save-as, tell me if you like/dislike, you know the deal. *G* I'm thinking the next round will be soundtracks and old school rock.

Wow, thanks, you! I'm downloading the BBM soundtrack (and whatever else I have time to snag before I have to go to bed *g*). I've got a Willie Nelson track from that already, but not the rest of them.

I thought people might be interested in that one. I quite like the instrumental tracks, and who doesn't love Willie?

I mean, as long as he's not singing backup for Jessica Simpson.

Muchas gracias. Love the Beatles version of that song. And Ghost World.
