I could warn you that I'm a geek, but I think it's pretty self-evident.

My enforced absence from the interwebs ensured that I was sheltered from the fallout from Doomsday. I suspect there were Issues on both sides, yes.

This is not about that. This is something I have been wondering at since AoS/RotC.

In AoS, we're told that the Time Lords kept the walls between the dimensions down, allowing passage between them. Since the Doctor went genocidal on their rears, the barriers went slamming back up.

Okay, this makes sense. It does, however, imply one of four things.

1. Time Lords only ever existed in our/their universe. If there are other universes where the Time Lords exist, the walls between the universes would still be passable, because they would be holding them open.

2. Whatever the Doctor did wiped out the Time Lords across the entire multiverse.
2.a. We're also told that parallel universes are created by choices made, and wiping out a race is a big one. If the Doctor inadvertently duplicated the multiverse (one where the Time War was won or lost in a different manner) it could have created a whole other set of universes where the Time Lords are alive, not accessible from the main multiverse.

3. The other universes, or at least some of them, do actually have Time Lords, but people from different universes are slightly out of phase with each other. Each universe would have to be holding the walls down for its own natives, because the mechanisms would be different for each shift of phase. Ignoring Adric now, yes.

4. Rusty just thought that throwing them back into parallel universes would be wicked cool, and I've outed myself as an over thinker.

Huh. I thought it was the other way round? The time lords kept things from spilling into each other?

I went to pull up my AoS to check exactly what was said, but it turns out that I've lent that disk out. I believe he said that you used to be able to travel between worlds, when his people were about, but they were all gone and it now should have been quite impossible.

It's quite possible they helped keep them separate as well, but that causes even more problems if they never existed at all.

I cannot decide which of these I want there to be fic about first.

It's possible that 3) ties into a story I am still pondering writing.

But I am pinch hitting for Multiverse. And it's possible I need to write Ten/Jack post Doomsday. And a separate Rose/Mickey, Mickey/Jake, Rose/Alt!Jack.

My writing is not niche-like at all, no.
