... I go camping for the August long weekend, and fandom is packing its bags to leave LJ?
The hell, people?
No, seriously, I'm never going to catch up on my flist -- what is this fresh drama, precisely?

I doubt seriously that everyone's going to leave LJ, although many people have established journals elsewhere and are posting to both/several.

There's a lot of chatter floating around, but I wasn't sure what it was in reference to. Thanks for the heads up.

This is going to get even more complicated, isn't it?

Whatever; I think I'm just going to take things as they come. If a viable fan-run journaling service comes about, I'll be there. But until then, the alternatives have all the same issues, and aren't nearly as smoothly run, so I'll just stick around here.
How was camping?

This is nowhere near to over, is it? I'll just be in my corner, m'kay? Lalalalala.

I'd really like to be neutral or objective about this, but honestly, all the drama makes me snicker. I will say that LJ went overkill, but that anyone who is actually surprised about it needs to make a serious reality check.
So...
Overreacting LJ? Check.
Overreacting fandom? Check.
Eleventy hojillion voices crying out in agony and suddenly silenced? Not so much.
Forget the cake and puppies, come join me on the sidelines and help throw popcorn at the people that actually take this stuff seriously. Random Monty Python quotes will make everything better.
