2 or 3 people got banned for posting erotic HP art which feature teenage characters. Fandom had a collective panic attack.

I doubt seriously that everyone's going to leave LJ, although many people have established journals elsewhere and are posting to both/several.

Hey, I'm not packing up yet--mostly because there's noplace else to go. But for what it's worth, it seems that Brad Fitzpatrick is quitting Six Apart now, so although I don't know how reliable that source might be, things are looking tangibly shakier.

Whatever; I think I'm just going to take things as they come. If a viable fan-run journaling service comes about, I'll be there. But until then, the alternatives have all the same issues, and aren't nearly as smoothly run, so I'll just stick around here.

They took away the kiddie porn, and it's far more important that they have their free speech--as applies to kiddie porn--than that LJ not get its ass sued off for questionable content, noes.

I'd really like to be neutral or objective about this, but honestly, all the drama makes me snicker. I will say that LJ went overkill, but that anyone who is actually surprised about it needs to make a serious reality check.

Eleventy hojillion voices crying out in agony and suddenly silenced? Not so much.
