Me: My grandma's going to the coast for a few days.

All My Friends: She's leaving you alone? For how long?

Me: Ten days.

AMF: Ten days? Is she trying to kill you?

Me: What are you talking about? I'll be fine.

AMF: -- Cherry, hon, you don't deal well with being alone.

Me: Whaaah?

AMF: Have you *ever* been alone for more than a few hours at any one time?

Me: Of course I ha--

::Expectant pause::

Me: Um. Okay, no. But she left me lots of Michelina's, and soup in a cup, so it's not like I'm going to have to cook.

AMF: We didn't assume she was going to make you. I mean, getting rid of *you* is one thing. Having her house burned down is another.




I am rather disheartened by my friends' doubt in my ability to survive for ten days.

Guess I'll just have to spend most of my time out.

So since I, um, haven't sent your package yet (because I suck), should I wait a few days for your grandmother to get home so she can accept it if you're at school when it comes? How do they deal with that?

I -- really don't know. My grandma's not back 'til next Saturday, so maybe it should get here some time after that. I'm already (after one day) having huge issues with the phone. I don't get home until late at night a lot of the time, and there's now no way to know if someone called.

This should not have caused so many problems so soon.
