I, uh, don't suppose anyone happens to know of a good way to get large amounts (say, about a half a bottle) of soy sauce out of carpet?

No particular reason, I swear.

OMG, seriously. How do I do these things?

Sop up as much as you can while it's still wet, then try white vinegar followed by clear water. If there's still a stain after that, you might have to rent one of those steam cleaners.

Pouring seltzer on it might work; I'm klutzy enough that food on the food is a semi-regular occurrence, and it hasn't failed me yet. I've never tried it with soy sauce, though. Let it soak for a few minutes, then use paper towels to soak up the seltzer and repeat as necessary.

Good old elbow grease seems to have done some good -- I shall try the vinegar on it, assuming that I have non-balsamic hanging around somewhere.

Seltzer = soda water, I am assuming?

I shall have to give it a try. It makes sense -- the CO2 bubbling off should lift the stains. Thanks!

If I had a dollar for every typo I'd made in (uneditable) comments, I would be treating myself to a nice supper out tomorrow. *G*

It seems good old fashioned elbow grease can help work wonders!
