The wind did die down in time for the meet! It was cloudy and a little cold, but that meant that I didn't get sun burnt. It actually tried to rain a bit towards the end, but we didn't get that wet.

Did fairly well. Ribboned in three events, places in points slots for all four (We're only allowed four, plus a relay), and made Districts for shot. Which really isn't bad considering that due to the way the age categories are set up, I was up mainly against grade twelves. I'm two weeks from the cut off date, only according to the announcement that was made regarding them, I'm actually still a Junior.

I had to drop out of relay, though. I was heading over to help at the high jump, and I was feeling a little proud of myself, especially since there was a large group of competition for some events.

So I leap over the track. Meanwhile, I'm thinking 'Gee. They should measure this for my long jump, because it's farther than any of the ones I made there...'

At which point I hit the ground, which dips in the field, take out my (good) ankle, and roll for a couple of metres. Luckily, though, I was done all of my individual events at that points, and I talked one of the other girls into running for me.

Our school kicked some major ass. We managed to hold on to the Division trophy, we won more of the individual point crests than any other school, and there were few podiums without at least one of our athletes on it. It was close between us and another school through out the day, but we pulled out at the end and beat them.

We got to do our victory circle on the infield. It sounds corny, that that unites more than anything else does. We all throw our arms around each other's shoulders, stomp and do this very cool chant.

Of course, the sun chose to come out just as the final points totals were being announced and everyone was packing up to leave.

The Division meet is always one of my very favourite days of the year. We scream ourselves hoarse cheering each other on; we get wind burnt and dusty; and we run through the sprinklers together over to the Dairy Queen; and we always leave with smiles on our faces.
