Jul. 12th, 2002 03:24 pmWhat's the first fandom you wrote fic for?
First story I actually wrote? X-Files/X-Men. I had several stories that actually hit lists before it. An X-Men Movie-verse, a really short X thing, and at least one of my West Wing stories.
What's the most recent fandom that you've written fic for?
I actually just finished a chapter of my latest XFic.
What's the title of your first fanfic?
Letonia. Yes, I know, brutal title. Laugh away.
Does it suck beyond the telling of it?
::Pause:: I was 15. It was a crossover involving a government conspiracy, aliens, X-Files, and a mutified Scully. You figure it out.
I do, however, have mixed feelings about saying that it was nominated for a CBFFA for best crossover, and actually didn't do that badly in the voting.
Is it slash, het, or gen?
Gen, I guess.
What was your first 'ship?
Oh, good lord. I guess if you want to go back to before I knew what a 'ship was, it was Storm/Wolverine. From the original animated TV show. It was on when I was in... Grade 1 or 2, I think. It wasn't on for very long on the channels we have, but I was convinced that they were meant for each other.
What's your fave 'ship now?
That's a hard one. I tend to enjoy all most any pairing that doesn't involve the sexualisation of the student/teacher relationship. That just bothers me for some reason. Angelo/Paige I suppose, for X. Hermione/Draco for Harry Potter. Bosco/Faith for Third Watch. Nick/Katherine for CSI. Aragorn/Boromir for LotR. Sam/Margaret for West Wing (Hah! I started this one. I was the only one who thought of them as a couple, and now there are actually other people writing it!). I do, however, tend to have a soft spot for any sort unconventional 'ships, and even more so for uncannonical 'ships.
What are your most common fic pairings?
... I just realized that I don't actually write that much actual pairing. I have a few Sam/Margaret from West Wing, and one story that has Angelo/Paige in it. I have another idea that would involve them, though...
What is your most commonly written character?
Emma. Deffinately Emma. I even wrote her into the movie-verse. Sam is, however, starting to catch up. Gotta love that guy.
Have you ever created an original character?
Well, MovieEmma. And I did quite a bit of creation to get the Nora Roberts character I used in 'Tea Time In Genosha'. She's the one from the comics who says 'Ms. Frost, I know you think that everything's a joke, but I keep having the same dream and I'm having it right now. We're all going to die.'
And, well, The Karma Downs utilizes a few OCs. One of whom, Grace, really isn't an OC at all. Hey, if you go to university, you're going to meet new people.
What character did you swear that you'd never write, but eventually did?
I've never actually sworn off a character, though I do have a tendency to kill or avoid Scott and Jean. And I do dislike Rogue.
On the other hand, characters I hate and will only write to kill off: Fishboy. ::Sticks her tongue out at Lindy:: And Fred, from 3rd Watch.
What pairing do you swear you will never, ever write, even if your favorite character promised to make sweet love to you in their crypt/hotel/van/haunted apartment/prison cell/flat if you did?
CJ/Danny. Logan/Jubilee. Snape/Hermione. Big people (or elves)/Hobbits. Legolas/Harry Potter. (Yes. I've seen it. Ewww.)
What's the wackiest fanfic situation you've put the characters in?
::Checks:: Oh, dear. I seem to have a distinct lack of wackiness. Just a lot of death. Umm... I had Angelo parasailing off a roof in part of my crossover that will likely never see the light of day... Do the scenes in my head count? ::Pictures Jubilee getting bitten by a radioactive bug::
What pairing do you hate to admit to actually indulging in, against your better judgement?
I just found it the other day. ::Whimpers:: Alex/Sam. So cute. I don't even know anything about Havok.
Can you remember the first fanfic you ever read?
Well, among of the first was Dex's wonderful 'The Sum of Zero'. That's the kind of story that makes you think 'Oh. If the rest's like this, I should stick around.' Generation Cat by... Oh, dear, I *know* who wrote that. It was too much fun. 'Sex Talks Over Blueberry Tea-Sean' by Ratmist. Indigo's 'The Race' and 'Queen of the Millenium.'
How long have you been involved in internet fandoms?
I've been writing for a bit less than a year and a half now, posting for over a year. I'm not sure the exact time was when I got into reading fic, but it was probably a few months before that. Maybe a year. It may have been the summer before grade ten.
Okay, I'm not really sure so I'm bluffing my way along, but it probably was about two years ago I came across fanfic. I came in through GenX, because I was bored one day and I had a couple of comics and wondered what there would be on the net. Through following links, I ended up at something called 'Fan-Fiction' and wondered what it was all about.
Ever written a crossover?
Yes. X-Men/X-Files. Letonia, The Ties that Bind, part of their sequels. I was also talked out of doing a LotR/Buffy thing which would have had some major, major plot holes. Just because you want Arwen and Legolas to be able to jump each other without Aragorn getting in the way is not a good reason to write a story.
Best crossover fic you've read?
LoveCraft's 'The Web-Borne of the Fall.' I don't have a clue about Highlander or Anita Blake, but it still kicks ass.
What character do you want to write, but don't think you could?
Hrm. That's a hard one. As I own all of 9 comic books, there are simply a lot of characters that I don't have the information on to write. Most of what I know about any character comes from fanfic or various on-line resources. It's just a fun world to play in.
I guess... Cable and X-Force. I adore Sam, but it would be cool to be able to do him with Cable and Domino and X-Force. But I always want to be able to write any character that I don't know enough about.
