cherry: (Cherry)
Quick version of the past week, as not to take up too much room...

Up for 5:30 for volleyball every day but today. Division band on Wednesdays is up to an hour and a half weekly. In-class band twice this week. Had to redraft all the plans for my IA project because Mom decided she wanted different dimensions and something other than tile on the top. Tutoured Tuesday. Have to fill out a multitude of forms for Taekwon-do, which is Thursday/Sunday. Couple of tests, couple of essays, couple of recesses spent hastily scribbling down my work before the bell went.

Finally got the sub/candy/confection people out to the school so I could have things for the servery. They're thinking of giving us microwaves as long as we keep buying from them. Probably going to take them up on it, as we need more. I also inquired about a freezer, because we have fridges from Coke already. We now have subs, candy, chocolate bars, pastries, 5/$2 beef jerky, juice for the little kids because I am no longer allowed to sell anyone below grade 8 pop, as well as chips, hot rods, pop, juice, and water.

Spent a lot of time on the phone to Toronto, trying to get things straightened out with Coke, from when they charged us where they should have refunded us at the end of last year - I'm lucky I caught that when I was talking with the treasurers. Still trying to get that worked out.

First home game of the football season was tonight, and I'm the time keeper. Which rocks, because they always give me a voucher for chips, a drink, and a burger.

...Damn. That is the first time I've ever had to run the clock on our own team. I mean, we were killed. When I started timing back in grade 9, we were provincial champions.

Oh, and it seems that I've fallen for a rather good friend. I realized this when he was taken out by a player on our own team, and he was really, really hurting. ::Head on desk:: I don't need this right now.

Football party tonight, but I'm not allowed to go, because our vball team has a tournament tomorrow, and I have to be up early again, and our coach has a rule that if she finds out we were drinking, she benches us. That, and I'm nursing a head cold and a really weird wrist injury. You know where your thumb meets your wrist? I have a growing, rock hard bump there that alternates between pain and being hot. We have tournaments the next seven weekends in a row.

Re:Formative Literature - Dianna Wynn Jones has probably had the largest influence on my writing (And, despite this, I can never remember if it is 'Dianne' or 'Dianna'). Hexwood was the first story that really got into my head. If you've ever read it, you'll see what I mean when I say that nothing is really as it seems, but everything you need to figure it out is there from the beginning. It works as well on the second read as the first, and I could (and have) read it any number of times without getting tired of it. Deep Secret and Howl's Moving Castle were also awesome, but Hexwood is a story that will always stick with me.

In other news, I suck at golf. I suck to badly that it's not even funny. Or, well, it's funny as long as you're not me. We were attempting it in gym today... Let's just say that there are a few new holes around the school yard today. Big, deep holes. And a whiffle golf ball or two on the school roof.
