[Random Things]
Sep. 20th, 2002 09:03 pmI'm supposed to be out at a party right now. ::Grumble:: But my chest is making interesting noises, and since I have a tourney tomorrow... The football game went decently. We lost, but it was still a better game.
Part way through the third quarter, my glasses fell apart. ::G:: I was just running down the field (I'm a minor official, so I have to be with the play) and the lense flew out.
Witness Cherry scrambling around, dodging football players, blind as a bat, trying to find her lense and still keep an eye on the refs and her stopwatch. And, of course, once I found it (all fingers intact, by the way) , I couldn't stop the game to put it back together. Luckily, one of the stats girls was kind enough and able to put them back together for me.
We had the Terry Fox Run last week. I once again managed to end up back at the school with almost an entire junior class in tow. Of course, for a reward for looking after everyone who left/lost/was abandoned by their carepartners, I got an extra popsicle. And, y'know, being glomped and pounced by a group of kids always does make you feel loved. ::G::
Forgot my oboe and flute at home because I was so busy looking for mitts and a toque for the game. I love being in the special English class, because that period he'd basically told us to go and do what we needed to do. And since what I needed was my oboe, and I'd driven in... Let's just say that making it to my house and back in one period is an adventure in and of itself.
Weather's been really weird this year. It was freezing today, and they're predicting snow for Monday. We had drought while the crop was forming. We had rain when it was supposed to be turning, so we got secondary greening and sprouting of seed, and this made it perfect for the one frost we've had so far to destroy a lot of the plants. A snow would finish off anything that we actually had, but with crop insurance in mind, that might actually be better.
I've got my fingers crossed. For what, I don't know, but I hope it all works out.
