May. 26th, 2004 07:19 pmWent back to the city for the long. Much fun was had.
I really missed my friends.
Saturday was possibly the girliest day I've ever spent. Went garage-saling, saw a movie, hung, baked a cheesecake, wore mascara. (Me. Bake. No one died.) Sunday and Monday were variations on the theme with various other friends.
As for movies:
TROY: I know, I know, you all hated it. And, okay, the majority of the acting was mediocre, and the statues were ugly, and blahblahblahcontinuity, but. It was fun. However, I did spend quite a bit of time sitting there, going "His heel! Shoot for his heel!"
Sean Bean? Is bloody brilliant. And there was gratuitous use of naked Brad Pitt.
STARSKY AND HUTCH: They're so doing each other. Really all I have to say.
50 FIRST DATES: I'm not a huge Adam Sandler fan, but this was rather amusing at times. I like that at the end, love didn't make everything magically right. (Well, not *everything.*)
Movie that you should all see, that I never got around to rec'ing: THE LAST SAMURAI. Bloody well brilliant. I often actively dislike Tom Cruise, but this movie made me forget it. Wonderful supporting cast, gorgeous scenery, and a well-crafted script. The first thing I said when I walked out of the theatre was 'That was good.' I don't think I snarked during it more than once or twice, and for me, these are both rather astounding happenstances.
