cherry: (breathe)
I return, triumphant and slightly chipmunk-faced.

The super-secret student group Western retreat was absolutely amazing. I mean a ton of great people, and the energy at the conference was just completely different than other engineering events I've been to. Everyone was having fun, and they had political opinions and were interested in yours, and in three days, I didn't ONCE have to step over a pile of vomit. (Also, I got to meet back up with the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] ella_bee, whom I haven't seen in much, much too long.)

We got back 7AM-ish on Tuesday morning, so I went to class until the Hour of Dread.

The good news is that the bloody teeth are gone. *G* I woke up from the sedation at least two times during surgery and started trying to talk to people, who were all "OMG, no talking!" to which the only real response was "OWWWW!" I am survived, however, even if I am beginning to rather resemble a chipmunk. They have me on painkillers, which I am leery of taking, if only because I'm one of those silly lot that tend not to take anything until headaches reach migraine status. In this case, however, I think I am more leery of the pain.

I am hoping to head back to school tomorrow, with only one day off, if only because of the one day = one week compression ratio of my animal physiology class. If it were lecture, I could catch up on it, but the 10 or so hours of laboratory work I've already missed will be hard enough to catch up on without adding another 7.

I am out at the farm, on dial-up, so I have yet to see this week's Who. (Really, I am unsure as to how I ever survived on dial-up internet.) Reviews look rather positive, though. *twitches*

In conclusion: Tell me all about your fabulous weekends (and for the Canadians, long weekends) as I suspect I'm not going to be able to get all the way back through Thurday on my flist.
