Or, more correctly, How I Plan To Spend My Summer Vacation.

I have a tendency to go insane when I don't have anything to do, and I just looked at my calender to see that I have a long haul left before I get to go back to school. Now, considering the complaining I did about all the work I have to do at the school this may sound odd. However, I'm pretty sure I'm going to have murdered at least my sister, and possibly other family members by the time the end of August rolls around. My folks are kind of not letting me go out to see my friends, or call them, or talk with them on the phone for any amount of time, and we live in the middle of nowhere, so...

Ahem. I'm partially posting this in the hope that I'll get a nice kick in the ass every once and a while to work on these things.

How I Plan To Spend My Summer Vacation

Writing Projects
Finish The Karma Downs. I'm working on part 8, and it's looking like it's going to be around 13. My current plot baby, and lately the object of my ire.

Beach Front Property: I need to write Angelo and Paige. They're two of my favourite characters, and I've been neglecting them for quite awhile. I can even get in all of Gen-X in this one, and I keep wanting to write something that's nice and straight forward. No dying, no torture, no putting people through mental hell...

The Wasteland Cadence: Original story. I've always been fascinated by post-apocalyptic scenarios, so I thought it would be kind of neat to try my hand at it.

Runaway Lanes: Also original. I've heard said 'write what you know', so I thought that I'd try that, too. A story set in a small town. Just about life. No super powers or heroes or people who are something more. Just people.

Other Projects

I'm going to start drawing again. I am. I bought myself some sketch books and everything. They're really rather nice. One's for pencil work, the other for pen. I promised myself that I'd get back into the swing this summer.

My site needs an overhaul. In a bad way. It's very functional, but not very pretty. I made it that way to try to prevent cross-browser and cross-platform muck ups, but I'd just like a change.

I'm going to practice the flute and oboe and piano. Unfortunately, most of my music books have gone missing, especially my higher level ones. I want to learn to play the violin as well, but I do realize that that's not going to happen.

Wushu! I found some information on martial arts offered over the summer, and Wushu looks pretty cool. I just need to talk my parents into it, and I know that I wouldn't be able to go each and every class, but it's something that I really want to do.

And the big thing...

University research. Scholarship searches. I need to figure out what I want to take where, and how I'm going to pay for it, because any attempts to talk to my parents about it result in screaming and non-discussion. I need to contact my top-choice colleges and ask if they offer dual degrees, because I've heard that they often actually do offer more than what their brochure lists.

Also must do more reading for my AP course. And last by not least: I am going to feedback more, because I know how yucky it feels when you don't get the response.

Now, let's just see how long these last...
