cherryBroke brain in finals. Still have my math departmental left. Broke leg at track meet, running into the golf bag stands at the golf dome (for some strange reason, they have objections to us hurtling discus about fragile objects -- like heads). Am convinced the other competitors were trying to kill me, as every time I was up to retrieve, they threw it out of the legal zone and almost took my head off.
The meet went okay. I set a new (indoor) PB for discus. Pretty good for not having touched a discus since the last outdoor season started. However, I was throwing with the seniors (read: the university athletes, who've professional coaches and have been practicing) because they didn't have a my age category, so I only placed sixth. Fourth in shot, but I wasn't throwing well.
I'm pondering setting up an archive. I made up a graphic and everything. Alias. I'd accept everything that wasn't Syd/Vaughn. Without exaggeration, the pairing makes up at least 85% of the fandom, and it's gotten rather cloying. For me at least.
I'd accept all characters, all pairings, all genres. I'd accept het and gen and slash, and everything that was rated R or lower (maybe NC-17 if I could find someone else to do the HTML -- I personally don't read the stuff, and that would make coding a tad difficult). I'd take fic about Syd, and fic about Vaughn, as long as they weren't making google eyes at each other.
I love the show, and I love the characters, but it's just so hard to get into the fandom if Syd/Vaughn isn't your cup of tea. I'm just not sure if I'd have the time to do a proper job of upkeeping and updating the archive. While there isn't that much of other sorts of fic, you have to sort through a lot of excess to find it.
That, and I don't know if anyone would come. Of course if no one came, and no one submitted fic, that'd reduce the amount of upkeep needed to practically nill...
