Jul. 9th, 2005 08:42 amI've updated Cherry Bombs with three stories: Buy Now, Pay Later (O11), Aphelion (dS), and Bury It With You (dS -- let me tell you, it's one thing knowing that a story's likely going to have a lower reception due to a pairing cocktail, and it happening despite the fact that in the end you're actually, you know, kind of proud of it.)
I so need to redo my site. The current version is clunky, ugly, and much to image-heavy. Not to mention the layout worked fine when I was still mainly in comics fandom, but it's not set up very well for the fact that I'm pan-fannish now. For one thing, dS definitely needs its own page. I've written 8 storied in the fandom, making it my second-largest one.
Sometime, when I wasn't paying attention, my site broke 8,000 hits. Actually, I noticed this a little while ago, and I'd written up a long-ish post mocking myself, the point of which being that my old stuff sucks. (I've been doing this for a bit over four years now -- I started slightly before I turned 16, I'm a month away from 20, I think the implication of suck is inherent. Boy, did I ever suck.)
There were quotes and links and everything.
-- Actually, by my count, I have 49 stories written, three of which are multi-chapter (10, 9 and 13). Given, I'm thinking of removing 11 of these from my site due to their extremely high levels of suck, but.
I should write something special, or self-indulgent for my 50th.
Oooh. Maybe I'll write Power Play fic, despite the fact that I'm the only person on the internet who watched the show. I could make a small primer, if people were interested. I keep wanting to cross it over with Dead Like Me or due South -- the first because Parker Sees Dead People, and the second because -- well, hockey, shared actors, sometimes similar tone, Paker Sees Dead People.
Or, hmm. I'm not sure what else I could do for a 50th.

Date: 2005-07-09 06:21 pm (UTC)Please write Power Play fic? Because I love that show *so* much. I requested it for the Yuletide challenge, but had no takers. Fraser and Parker trying to deal with each other would be *damn* funny. And Bob and Duff...*happy!*

Date: 2005-07-10 03:39 pm (UTC)I requested Power Play fic for the Yuletide challenge this year as well. I was really hoping for it or Chronicles of the Kencaryth (which is another fandom that doesn't exist), but I did get a nice Dead Like Me story.
Now that I know I have possibly two readers, I might have to do a bit of work in the 'verse. dS has an automatic in, with tickets to a game from "Turnbull's cousin Mark Simpson." (I find that McDermott's quite good -- I never associate his roles with each other. I didn't even realize he was in "Touch of Pink" until someone else mentioned it.)
I want to write just a plain PP fic at some point as well, because Colleen/Brett is one of the few OTPs I've ever had. I mean, with where the series ended, being together would have broken them both to pieces, but they're just not going to be right without each other.
*cough* Digression. Sorry.
