You and I and me and you
Jul. 12th, 2005 05:14 pmThere are a few of those "getting to know you" memes floating around at the moment, and I've realized something.
I know very little about a number of you. A rather larger number of you than I'd like, as there's been a bit of growth in my friendslist lately.
So, tell me about yourselves. Please. I really want to know. What do you do, where do you live, which is your favourite band? Tell me about your first dog or how you got here or why you friended my journal.
Tell me a little about yourselves, please. If you have any questions, I'm more than willing to answer them myself.

Date: 2005-07-13 04:07 am (UTC)I live in Connecticut, and am a sports copy editor and page designer for a large newspaper. I grew up in the South, though (Richmond, Va.) so I'm an odd blend of Rebel and Yankee. I figure after almost seven years of living up here, I'm claiming Switzerland so I don't get caught on the Civil War fallout.
My favorite band of all time is actually R.E.M., mostly because their music has been the backdrop to pretty much my entire life. ;) My first dog's name was Pepsi, but really that was my dad's dog, so my first pet was a cat named Joy. I got her when I was 6 and she lived to be 18. A pretty good run, really! No pets at the moment, but I plan on moving in the next few months and want to get a cat from a shelter once I do - I don't want to traumatize the poor thing by moving it twice.
I love to travel, and plan to do more of it before I get married and possibly have kids, not that either is eminent. I'm terrified of change and yet am constantly restless - not an easy thing to reconcile. My lifelong goal, as it seems to be for so many people, is to be a published novelist. We'll see how that goes. ;)

Oooh, shelters are the way to go. I've always been more of a dog girl, but with the amount of time I spend at school, I couldn't really look after one. I wish I wasn't allergic to cats.

Oooh, I want to do that, as well. Publish a novel. It's not coming along at the best clip ever.
