I really, really hate asking people for things. Especially if I've taken advantage of them for the same thing in the past.

That said, would anyone be able to run a beta on a short-ish Due South story today, for the No Power challenge (which is theoretically already closed)? I promise happy endings.

*Looks as cute as possible* Please?

Heeeee. Well, if said hypothetical author found her story was finished more on the Thursday-ish side of things, hypothetically speaking, I think that could be arranged...

(Or translatedly: Yes! I'd love to! Only I've already agreed to beta somebody's re-write this weekend, so I'm much likelier to get it back quickly if I've got it by Thursday.)

OMG yay! Welcome! The special fandom hell is rilly rilly fun!

M'kay. I will see what I can do -- it's just that I just finished an evening class, and tomorrow I have a dentist's appointment and a council meeting. *hates on school with its work, and involvement with its time commitment*

Which is giving you too much information, but is my way of saying 'Hopefully.'

And, maybe, I kind of have Ford in my closet, but am thinking it might be a good idea to write the major pairing before I write Ford gen and Rodney/Ronon.

I'm probably going to have this done only a few hours before the challenge. As such, I'm going to assume that you have, oh, a life, and won't have time to give it a once over before the deadline.

I'm going to hope I haven't fallen too far into suck and mis-characterization.

Thank you anyway.

Hey! I got this last night, but you'd already posted--sorry I missed you. But omgYAY, you finished it, and it's *long* and I can't wait to read it.

I'm thinking I maybe should have waiting around for you, because the response really hasn't been what I was hoping for. *G* I'm worried my character voices were wrong, or the story was too long for my writing style, or my writing was just really lackluster last night. (Because, really, I wrote pretty much the entire thing in one sitting yesterday.)

Or, it's possible that due South has just spoiled me.

Maybe I'll just stick to icons from now on.

Aw, I think there were just a whole lot of stories posted to the comm in the last couple of days, so people are overwhelmed with fic. Lots of familiar names wrote for this challenge, too, so you might just have got lost in the stampede. I'd give it a couple of days, then post a link in your own journal, so the DS people (who already *know* you're brilliant) can go over and check it out. *g*

I haven't read the story myself (*kicks stoopid busy weekend*), so I can't give you any specific feedback yet. Definitely no corner-sitting for you, though--much as I like your icons, I like your writing more.

Oh, I know, it's just -- Paranoia, here. I have this supreme lack of confidence in my writing abilities, something which has been only partially rectified as of late, so it's easy to send me into a tailspin. *G* I just have these flashbacks to the times I used to get one or two pieces of feedback per story.

Or I was lackluster. I suppose this kind of defeated the purpose of writing John/Rodney BEFORE Ford gen. *G*

You're a doll, and thank you for the reassurance.

Also? If you end up in Toon-town, we should grab sushi some time.

So with you on the paranoia, especially when it comes to SGA--there are just so many writers there, and so many stories being posted, it's hard to find your own particular niche. I've got all these half-written fics in that fandom, and bunches more ideas I haven't even started writing, and it's at least partly because I'm too intimidated to post them. I guess I ought to just make myself finish some and post them anyway--practice makes perfect and all that.

And yes! We absolutely should! Most of the people I know in Saskatoon are people I'm related to. And besides, it's always good to know where the sushi is. *g* I'll email you once I'm there and settled, yeah?
