Oct. 25th, 2005 03:26 pmI adore the 100 things memes, because I love getting to know people through the little details. I am, however, not nearly interesting enough to have 100 things about myself to share.
01. Silence is more distracting to me than noise.
02. I truly believe that what we hate in others is what we hate in ourselves.
03. I hate stupid people.
04. One of my eyes is partially green or yellow, depending upon the light.
05. I think 'endoplasmic reticulum' is the funnest phrase in the English language.
06. My favourite word is persnickety.
07. I adore Disney movies.
08. I've been driving since I was 11 years old.
09. The first time I saw the foothills, I thought they were mountains. I was 15.
10. I had my fist beer when I was in 14, at a field party.
11. I've never been drunk.
12. I've never studied for more than four hours for anything in my entire life.
12.a) I have a midterm tomorrow that I haven't started studying for yet, and it doesn't look like a fun one.
13. Going into engineering instead of arts and sciences is a decision I made for all of the wrong reasons.
14. I no longer notice if I'm the only girl in a large room.
15. I notice if there are a large number of girls.
16. I really miss competitive sports.
17. The first time I downloaded music, I felt so guilty that I deleted it from my computer less than three hours later.
18. Talking about drug use makes me feel physically ill.
19. I have every card and letter I've ever been sent.
20. I have conversations with random people -- on the bus, in the grocery store, with clerk and waiters.
21. I like country music, and I refuse to apologize for that.
22. I refuse to apologize for liking slash.
23. I refuse to apologize for liking het.
24. I think labels (in general) are silly and restrictive.
25. I feel like I should apologize for the fact that I don't always have time for LJ, what with doing two degrees and sitting on three councils and doing some casual work as a tour guide.
26. To me, there is a huge difference between a story about a certain character that happens to have pairings, and a story about a character through the pairing.
27. I don't like things (music, characters, pairings, phrases) just because they are obscure, but it doesn't hurt.
28. Telling me to do something is the best way to insure I don't do it.
29. I have a extremely hard time saying 'no' when asked for something.
30. I've had three dogs.
31. When my dad shot the second one, he left the box of bullets on the table outside my bedroom door.
32. I tend to forget that there are actually still people who, you know, smoke.
33. 'Like' is my worst speech tag.
34. I don't mind public speaking at all.
35. When I was in grade seven, I caught whooping cough at a volleyball tournament.
36. Before we figured this out, I went to more tournaments, school, drama, and a clinic for teaching figure skating.
37. I (suspect I) can't do a lutz any more, but I can still do a backwards outside spread eagle.
38. I'd rather hang out with a group of guys I don't know than a group of girls I don't know.
39. The best way to retain your privacy, to stop people from asking questions, is to share, share, share your surface thoughts.
40. My apartment has more plants than counter/shelf space.
41. I don't do domestic.
42. I generally don't watch sitcoms, because watching people embarass themselves is almost physically painful.
43. My biggest vices are fresh pineapple, procrastination, and long, hot showers.
44. I edit about three papers/essays per month for my friends.
45. I talk too much, too loudly, and too quickly.
46. I have a lot of friends, good friends, but there are only a few who really, really know me.
47. I think that my pseudonym is unfortunate and doesn't exactly inspire confidence in my writing skills.
48. I wrote my first fic when I was 15, and it's exactly as bad as you'd think. I'm considering yanking a large percentage of the stories on my site.

50. If I'd had a bit more self confidence, I probably would have gone into English or performance music right out of high school.

is EXACTLY the way I feel about the sitcom genre. I think we may be the only two people in the world who react this way. 'S weird.
