Well, I just exercised my democratic rights. I hope all Canadians do so, no matter what their political persuasion, because people who don't vote tend to irk me.

It is, of course, a person's right to refrain from voting, but as far as I'm concerned? If they do so, they have no right to criticize the system. If you choose not to vote, then choose just not to care or involve yourself in the system, that's a person's own choice -- though certainly not one I would make for myself.

On the one hand, I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't vote in this election.

On the other hand, I don't think they'd appreciate it if I did - being neither a registered voter nor a citizen. Heck, last time I was up there, my age was on the low side of single digits.

Still, I respectfully disagree with your assessment and reserve the right to criticize the government at will. Or at least watch Canadian Bacon again.

*giggles* Well, you're not allowed to vote in Canadian elections, so that's a different story. You can criticize my government all you want -- goodness knows I criticize yours. *G*
