Ten ways to tell you're reaching a fic by Cherry
1. Two words: Random imagery.
2. There's het in your slash and slash in your het, but it stills feels strangely like gen.
3. There's no sex.
4. It's about an obscure character or it's a strange pairing. Also -- That character you love to hate? Probably in a supporting role.
5. It alternates between present tense (in the here and now) and past tense (as we explore a formative event about the character's past).
6. Something traumatic happens to someone, and what it was is very heavily implied, but the words are never said.
6. There is random word replacement.
7. It feels vaguely like meta.
8. It shows up on your flist as a bolded title, an italicized summary/quote, and a LJ cut. In other words, it's easy to miss.
9. It's possible -- just possible, mind you; that there is over-use of distinctive forms of punctuation...
10. The ending is more likely about hope or possibility than happiness.
