I have six people as yes on the Romanathon idea, and two maybes. This does not seem encouraging, as six people does not a ficathon make. Upon further conversation with [livejournal.com profile] tellitslant (who insists more people will sign up than responded to the poll) it looks like it could be a go-ahead anyway.

There really probably should have been an 'I would be interested if someone with more Who-cred than you were running it' option. *G*

Unrelated: My little brother has his high school graduation tomorrow. It is making me nostalgic, and possibly making me feel old as well. It's going to odd to be back at the comp.

It's been three years since I graduated, and I've been back to the school once, for the awards ceremony the year after I started university. My sister's graduation was held in the community curling rink, just as mine was -- my brother's, however, is going to be in the school because they have an abnormal large graduating class. I think they have more than 30 students, which may not seem like much to a lot of people, but my grad class was 24.

Most of my teachers have moved on to other schools. The principal and vice principal are both different. My track and field and basketball coaches are gone, and I think the volleyball one may be as well. I have a lot of good, very strong memories of the place, and it's going to be odd to see it so changed.

Oh, dear. Not even 21 until August, and I'm already one of those people who says "Back in the day..."

S'cool. It happens. Seven does make a difference, though, as I'd kind of picked ten in my head as the magical number. I think we can make that.

I toooold you more people would sign up. *g* An actual ficathon carries more weight than just a poll.

I always forget you're such a young'un. Hee.

You know what I found out the other day? My high school has a wikipedia entry. How bizarre is that!

Um. Yay Romana!

Well, yes, you did. :P

I'm not that young. I'm almost twenty-one. Twenty-one. I'm two months away from being legal in America.

My high school doesn't have a wikipedia entry, but my town does. Okay, so you have to disambiguate it, because it takes you to the one in Staffordshire by default, but the point remains.

Yes, this is me, working on the J/R. *cough* I didn't take another accidental 3.5 hour nap or anything.

I am Always Right, you should know this by now. *g*

Also, I am going to be twenty-three this fall, so I can call you a young'un if I want so there. *is crotchety*

Accidental naps are good, but not at the price of the J/R, woes!

Um, oops? Sorry.

I already have this tendency to go on about kids these days... because, really: kids these days. OMG, what is up with them?

It's the Saskatchewan thing. Curling is part of life, yo.

Someone posted a link to a SGA story once, where John was a figure skater and Rodney curled, and it almost made me fall over laughing because they were using the same rink. Curling Ice != Skating Ice. I have skated for many years, and I have curled, and just... no. If you skate on curling ice, the curlers will kill you dead, and besides? There's no real point in skating on curling ice, because even if you're in CanSkate and not CanFigure, let along competitive -- You're not getting anything like the right response. They are the same only in that they're made of frozen water.

Just imagine: the only price I paid for this knowledge was growing up a farm girl.

OK, first off I am commenting to say whaaaat on the same ice thing. This is what happens when Canada becaomes a "fandom," dude, it is so wrong. Obviously that came from someone who'd never seen a curling rink, too. Hee.

But mainly I am commenting so I can say Look, look at my icon! *cracks up*
