So, upon the advice given by you lot, I order an external hard drive. It has arrived.

Its name is Stephan, and it is big, it has space, and both I and my poor little computer LOVE it. Wheeeee! My computer has so much more room, and I can keep media, instead of trying to decide if I liked episodes enough to burn them one to a CDR.

Now, if I can only figure out why it refuses to let me download my torrents directly to it, I'll be in business.

It's going to be fussy about that because between the episodes going into your computer and then from your computer to the external, it's...like clogging the pipe, and slowing it up in both directions. It's probably doable if you screw with it a lot, but I recommend just DLing them to your computer and clearing them off onto the External once they build up. A lot less headache.

That makes rather a lot of sense. Thank you!

For the record, I have no issues with and no appreciable slowdown from dling onto my external. Which doesn't solve anything for you, but, you know, just fyi. *g*
