As a point of interest, within the last week, three computers have breathed their last breath around me. The husk of the old laptop is sitting in my closet, and I rather think I won't be able to bring myself to toss it out. I've discovered that I was sadly attached to it.

I do not yet have the new laptop, though the iPod with purchase has arrived. I can't do anything with it until I am no longer computer disabled, but it's quite possible I took it out of the box just to look at it. It's just so shiny, and it's going to fit my entire music library.

I ended up going with the 2.0GHz processor because it turned out that was the only way to get the DVD burner. On top of that, I upgraded to the 1 gig of RAM, and an 80GB HD. All in shiny white!

But it looks like it hasn't even shipped yet, and I miss having a compuuuuuuter.

Wicked awesome choice, congratulations.

Imagine my disappointment when I checked my Fed Ex updates on when that computer would arrive. It went from China, to Anchorage, Alaska (which is right next to Inuvik, NWT, which is where I AM BY THE WAY), all the way the heck down to Memphis Tennessee, then up to Edmonton Alberta and meandered its way up to Inuvik.... if you get a chance, do a Google Earth tour of that trip. It'll bring a tear to your eye!

I am so very, very excited. Except I am sad that I do not have it yet, because I was kind of hoping it would be here for Friday. It started out in China (though I thought for a while that Cincinati was CN, so there was a bit of confusion), then it went to Anchorage. Last it lists is 3:51 AM on the 22nd in Memphis. I waaaaaant.

I ended up springing for the 30GB video white. It got here a week and a half ago, and I am watching it whistfully.

My summer is going great! Yes, still up in the Arctic, but pimpin' it UP at my boss's boss's house because I'm house-sitting for him while he's on vacation. Have been for the last 3 weeks. So nice to have such a nice large house with a nice big bed and a HUGE dog and of course satellite TV. I'm livin' the dream until Thursday. :-)

Sunday I'm off to Calgary and all over Central Alberta for work. Oughtta be good.
