Let the interwebs decide!
Aug. 31st, 2006 11:34 pmIt is possible (probable, even) that I have acquired for myself a shiny new cell. (I'm disconnecting my landline, as it turns out I'm only ever home on evenings and weekends, which I can get free with this plan anyway.) It is sleek and thin and Bluetooth enabled. This enables me to make my own backgrounds, as well as to create ringtones from .mp3s on my computer.
It also allows me to send text messages, which I was very excited about until I realized that my service provider isn't supported by the LJ text-messaging service.
But! Ringtones and shiny and I loves it, yes. My music library is kind of incredibly huge, and while I'm discovering that great songs aren't always great ringtones, I am flooded with options. (It should be noted that I decided that on the scale of "Win!" to "Dear lord, I do not know you," setting the Doctor Who theme was much close to "DLIDNKY.")

Date: 2006-09-01 06:16 am (UTC)But once I was on the bus, and it was a dreary, grey day, and we're all just bumping along, heading into Ottawa, when suddenly a dude's cell goes off. You can see everyone start to roll their eyes - oh great, now I have to listen to his conversation - when it dawns on us that his cell is playing the Hockey Night in Canada theme. Hockey's not on that season - during the strike - and yet as it continues to play, the guy taking his sweet time to get it out of his bag, the bus starts...humming. Quietly, then a bit louder, and suddenly I realize I'm humming too, and we're all humming the tune along with the phone.
He answered it then, and I looked around and made some half-guilty eye contact with a few people, and everyone returned to their stupor. But most of 'em were smiling. Hence, the best ringtone ever.

Do I owe you email? I have this sinking feeling like I owe you email.
