Oh, geez, I'm sorry, guys. I didn't realize the autopost thing had actually posted, as it told me there was an error. Everything is cut-tagged or deleted now.

It's only popped up a few times on my flist, but then mine is a tad smaller.

I'm afraid I'm not actually sure as to the history of the feature. I just couldn't resist pushing the button. It's a thing.

Fortunately, there was a very narrow horizon on the auto-post thing; people saw what was happening and fixed things quickly. So for like two hours I had a billion auto-posts on my friends list; now I just have a handful of, "Um, whoops - turns out it posts! Even though it says it doesn't! Sorry!" posts, and a few cut-tagged auto-posts.

I haven't gone to the link specifically because I know I won't be able to resist doing it, and my posts are so long. My auto-post could end up the length of a novel.

But - does it say how it does it? Is it another Markov chain thing? I'm curious, but I know better than to go look, for I cannot resist pushing buttons. (Seriously. Since we've lived in this house, we've had to get two new garage doors. The most recent one was because a motorcyclist crashed into our house during a CHP chase - I don't know how this shit happens to us - but the other was because I looked ruminatively at a large, red bar and thought, I wonder what happens if I pull on that? Nothing good, as it turns out.)

It's just a LJ subpage with no explanation. There's a box that says 'Creativity' and then a slider array of radio buttons ranging from 'Not Creative' to "Non-Sensical". I could not stop myself.

At work, in the control room, there is a button with a large red plaque that says 'Emergency Building Power Shut Down.' Every time I am down there, I can't stop watching out of the corner of my eye.

I have a much harder time with not taking things apart. When distracted, I sometimes disassemble things without even realizing I'm doing it. Italian charm bracelets were pretty big up here for a while, and one of my friends handed hers to me during a birthday supper. She was rather irate when she turned back to me five minutes later and found it reduced to its component parts. In my own defense, if she didn't want it taken apart, she should have known enough to say so.
