I have somehow, in the throws of my brilliance, managed to lose my external hard drive. My old, full, not up to date one is accounted for.

My shiny new one, the shiny new one that holds all of my source, that has all of those in progress/near finished vids, their clips, their notes, and their project files? Is magically gone.

This is why I can't have nice things, people.

Just -- good grief. GAH.

Oh, that sucks, hon! ::hugs::

I hope maybe you'll find it somewhere unexpected?

Well, I've checked under my bed and in the freezer (where, in all seriousness, I once found my phone), but there are other nooks there and at work I may have missed. *crosses fingers*

I'm just going to put my head down on my desk now.

Wait, is it dead? Or actually physically lost?

It is actually physically lost. I am so incredibly clever.

Oh, well, actually that's much better than if it had died. Because you'll find it again! I have complete confidence. Whereas a dead drive takes your data away forever, unless you have thousands of dollars for data recovery.

See, when my old compy died, the computer store on campus recovered it for less than a hundred. I... really have no idea where this is. I am hoping it is hiding somewhere at my grandma's, because losing not only my media, but my in progress vids *and* the drive itself? Is so many levels of uncool.

It's a self-powered travel drive, so it's fairly compact. *wins*

Aww, man, that is all kinds of suck. /o\ I'm thinking that probably it was the work of gnomes. You should attempt to bribe them with underpants instead -- I understand that's what they're usually after. *nodsnods*

um. It's a South Park reference. In case you haven't watched the show. I'm not just being randomly creepy. *g*

It has to be in your house somewhere, though, right? I'll cross my fingers that you find it.

I'm a little afraid that the sock-stealing dryer gremlins have branched out, to be honest.

The thing is: it's a travel drive. So it, um, travels with me. And it's probably been gone for a while before I noticed. *dies*

That's not good! Keep looking though, you have to find it.

There are more hours of work on that thing than I want to think about. Media can be reacquired, but lost vids are, well, lost.
