At least I didn't set of the fire alarm. At the time, this pleased me. In retrospect, it makes me somewhat concerned.

Don't feel bad- this stuff happens to the best of us. I remember once, I forgot I had tomato sauce on and went out to get the laundry. By the time I came back, an inch of the sauce was burned.

Oh, dear! I didn't even know they made plastic steamers, though; those just sound like a bad idea to me -- I'd totally have melted several, given the number of times I've let all the water boil away, with my metal ones....
