A question to my sensitive-skinned sisters out there: what product(s) do you use? Every since Oil of Olay randomly discontinued their sensitive-skin soaps, I've been trying to find a good alternative.

"Use Dove," is generally the advice I receive. However, despite their Real Beauty campaign, they (Unilever) also sell skin bleaching creams overseas. That's just not something I'm willing to support, even by proxy, so Dove is out. Avene makes a non-soap cold cream bar that I really like, but it's a little pricey, and bar soap just isn't ideal for the showers at the gym.

Anyone have any suggestions, store bought, homemade, or otherwise?

In other news: I have a passport and a plane ticket! I now have the legal ability and practical means to leave the country. Also, perhaps more importantly, to reenter it.

I've been doing a modified version of the Oil Cleansing Method for my dry, sensitive, acne-prone skin, and it's never been happier. I use an oil-based cleanser (Burt's Bees) 3x a week and the rest of the time I just rinse my face with water. After cleansing, I apply a thin film of jojoba oil, and that's it. I've come to regard soap as my natural enemy. (: Maybe it would work for you?

*nod* The idea of oil cleansing is that oil dissolves oil -- and picks up whatever other dirt and grime you've got on your face. I haven't read anything specifically about OCM and sunscreen, but I'm sure Ms. Google will be your friend. (:

FWIW, the cleanser I've been using is this one, but I've been planning to switch to this one, since it has even fewer ingredients.

GRAR. I really don't get why websites do that.

Currently using Soap Bark & Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream, switching to
Orange Essence Facial Cleanser. After that I might try full-bore OCM: a blend of olive oil and castor oil for cleansing. We'll see.
