Tuesday was our first basketball game of the season. We lost by one point in the last ten seconds of the game, which was a bit disappointing. But on the bright side, the entire season is ahead of us.

In fact, we have games booked through March, and it will probably extend into April. We started practices in November.

Now, I love basketball as much as the next girl, but six months? Six months of morning practices? You’d think that after getting up for morning practice two or four times a week since school started, I’d be used to it.

It’s still like poking myself in the eye every morning.

Wednesday, our culture club delivered the Christmas trees we’ve sold. It’s an annual fund raiser we did last year, and somehow picked up again this season. It didn’t take anywhere near as long to drop them off this year, but that was a bad thing. We have a ton of trees left over, and these are really, really, super nice trees. A lot of them are pushing nine feet, and they’re *bushy.* They’re just gorgeous trees. We’re eating the cost on those, so we’re down four hundred dollars from last year (from six - two).

We had our last division rehearsal before our Christmas concert next week. Things are really starting to gel there, but I need to con my parents into making a city run for a new oboe reed.

Today, I missed my third taekwon-do lesson in a row, for reasons out of my control (our school band was performing at the Christmas concert). Which is not good, what with my test coming up. I will persevere, though. ::Grins widely, and bounces around::

Coke repair came. Left again, having failed to fix the door to the machine. I called them back, and they eventually got out here again. It opens now, but there is now a hole drilled through my machine, and large bolts, and nuts I have to ratchet open to get into the coin box et all. Which wouldn't be so bad if it didn’t constantly eat money and the coin return actually worked. I wrestled an admittance out of the guy that yes, Coke really did design the things in an evil manner, so I feel somewhat vindicated. *And* this all happened in less than three weeks, so we were making good time. ::G::

Tomorrow we get the day off school to go to a career expo. It’s supposed to be... not completely captivating, but hey, it’s still a day off. I’ve got my lists for the deliveries coming while I’m gone all made up and everything. Hopefully they will survived the multiple exchange of hands and get to the teacher who will be there to place them.

Basketball camps start tomorrow, as well. I managed to get my name on the late list for the Christmas dance, so I can go to that when we’re done through the night. My brother somehow got into my session, but I can live with that. There are lots of us. And, y’know, basketball is a dangerous sport...

No, I’d never do anything to hurt him. Camps are twice Saturday, and most of Sunday, as well as Friday night. The good news is, though, that I’ll be done on Sunday in time to come back here, grab my dobok, and get to taekwon-do. If I drive quickly enough.

And, starting the Sunday (not this Sunday, or the one after it, but the one after that, the first one in Christmas break off) I have nothing going on until Christmas. Christmas eve. But those two are good things. ::Grins::

And that’s about it for the CherryIce update. In our next (repetitive) issue...

Girl attacked by Saskatchewan! Fusion reactors gone wrong! Sleep deprivation hallucinations! Wall climbing and fencing and basketball! Much use of exclamation points!

Saskatchewan,
Saskatchewan!
We're just not sure what batch you're on!

...Oh, well, I tried. Consult Ogden Nash's "The Wendigo" for the original.
