We're starting building construction in IA. It's been cold, so I know why we haven't, but it's still going to be fun. We do projects for the community at cost of materials, so we don't lose money on them.

We actually started one of the walls for a shed inside. A 12 by 12 shed, walls 8 tall. We framed it, got the studs in, and slapped the backing on.

Then, today, we some how managed to get it out the shop door. Really, it should have been physically impossible.

We started on the front wall today. Unfortunately, the boards one of the others chose for the cripples were warped, so we actually had to move the backing studs to the outside so that the door top was precise and the boards and spacers fit.

And I've only been finding out today that it's not common knowledge that two by fours are not actually two by four. They're one and a half by three and a half.

...Yes, we use inches for most projects. Simply because the majority of plans are made in America, and there's no point in converting to centimetres and millimetres when there are inches marked on one side of the tape.
