SO.

School wasn't canceled, I have to write my test at lunch, and I'm working on four hours of sleep. All of which I can deal with. Grad's tonight. Yay. That's cool. I have to be there an hour early. Okay. Fine.

So I find out that while I was gone, my sister was making up shit about me and then telling just about everyone. Not just from our school either. From just about every town I have friends in. She was mocking me, telling stories that were completely untrue, the whole character defamation thing.

She was making me look unstable, taking everything out of context, and basically trying to drive everyone away from me. She was trying to make out that I was completely worthless, and bunch of other shit that I really don't feel like getting in to. Suffice it to say that she knows where all my weak points are, and she exploits them. Mercilessly.

How long have I tried to be the better man? (Or girl, as the case may be.) I have covered for her through a ton of stuff. I have not flipped out when she sleeps with guys she knows I like. I don't even tell the stories about her that are true that would be damaging to her reputation.

I have been nice to her. I keep trying to be nice to her.

Am I doing something to bring this on? Probably, but I sure as hell can't figure it out. I mean, I have to have some blame in here somewhere, because that's just the way things work.

But I do not think that I deserve this.

I don't.

You don't deserve this. You're a great person, hon, and you deserve more respect than this.

Your sister needs a quick boot upside the head.

Thank you. I really appreciate hearing that.

And I'm taking absurd pleasure in the thought of my sister getting booted upside the head, for some reason....

The adjective you're looking for is "defective" and it should be applied when describing your sister. "That's my sister. She's defective, but we can't get her replaced under warranty. We're stuck with her."

No, you don't have to have any blame in this - that's the way things work, and that's why the world is still a messed up place.

In case that wasn't clear enough: You're right, you don't deserve that. Your sister is a twit. Stop trying to be nice to her. Be civil, be polite, but don't do her any favors and stop covering for her.

Thank you. Seriously. It's always nice to have someone tell you that things aren't your fault. And though I'm not going to spill any of the rather large quantity of dirt I have on her, I'm not going to be running interference for her any more.
