Mar. 26th, 2006 09:53 pmRemix IV is live.
One of my Firefly stories was remixed: Still Flying, Still Breathing (the Pennyroyal Tea Remix), and it is absolutely everything I could have asked for. It's so very Mal, Mal and every one of his wars. The language is lovely and there is such a sense of place and time.
To whomever wrote it: Thank you.
In other news: I hear scuttlebutt (
foenix) that SFX is going to be dropping one of the later episodes of Dr Who due to homoerotic overtones. This leaves me with one burning question -- Did they not watch the second half of the season before purchasing the rights? Possibly, the execs viewed the first few eps, and then went "I hear this Jack fellow they brought on turned out to be rather popular."
Being as the Jack episodes are the last five of the series and involve two two-part episodes, this could be potentially problematic. The part of me that is very mean thinks it would be rather amusing if they dropped "The Parting of the Ways" and segued straight into "The Christmas Invasion."
"What the -- Weren't they -- Where are the -- Why is David Tennant on my television screen?"

Date: 2006-03-27 05:28 am (UTC)What? Really? Sigh. Time to step up the OMG Buy the DVDs, People campaign, I guess.
Seriously, though, how could they drop an episode? You can't just drop an episode! (Although the cutting of scenes they're doing so far doesn't give me much confidence in the Almighty SciFi.)
Won't someone think of the children?

Date: 2006-03-27 05:56 am (UTC)I'm up in Canada, and CBC (one of our broadcast channels) aired it at 7pm weekly. I really don't see how it could be be inappropriate for 10pm on cable.
I wasn't aware they'd been cutting scenes. What sort of things have they been dropping?
