May. 23rd, 2006 10:53 pmDear Flist (and the World at Large):
I know there are only about four Who people reading this, and only two? three? old schoolers, but I'm asking this anyway. Maybe someone is wandering by who can help me, or maybe I've missed a repository of knowledge. Either way:
I'm looking for recommendations for old school Doctor Who arcs. I'll swing any Doctor, any companion. Things I've seen already are City of Death, Hand of Fear, Mawdryn Undead, The Happiness Patrol, and The Five Doctors. I just finished Mawdryn Undead -- boys screaming like girls! People with exposed brains, clothed in matching party streamers! Spinny green background of doom! Turlough, didn't your mother ever tell you not to make deals with men with waterfowl attached to their heads? I think Terror of the Autons is on deck.
Recommendations don't necessarily have to be classics -- though I would adore knowing what the classics are -- just arcs that were thoroughly enjoyed.
Much love,
Cherry

I can repay your kindness in fic, you know... Though, just so you know, the Mickey bunny is eating my brain, on top of the discordant Time War bit, and I blame you.

Also, check it out: Who books online. I can only find Eighth Doctor books in town so far, so this is kinda awesome.

But you're supposed to encourage the good ideas, hon. Not the ones that are on low-quality crack, and possibly hallucinogens. At this point, I should really just be writing something, shouldn't I?

Oooh, neat. I'm currently trying to figure out something about the audios. I could probably load them to my iPod, couldn't I?

Anyways, all the Who ideas you've run past me are good, or at least are on high-grade crack. (Hon, this is a fandom with people who not only juggle geese but wear them as headwarmers, and you're worried your fic will be too crack-y? Come on. *g*)
And yeah, audios will go on iPods. I don't know how old or new yours is - mine's a couple years old and it has the "audiobook" section, but I don't know how to configure that particularly. But it exists! (I want the Sarah Jane audios. *pouts*)

I'm just saying. Time war and shards of Time Lords scattered about the universe. (You can't fight a war, because the war wins.) There are so many reasons it is not a good idea for me to write it.

I have a mini, so. I think there's probably a way? I'm just not sure what it is, or if there's a way to save your place. I've never actually listened to any sort of book on tape before. If I figure it out, I will let you know. *G*
