Of Glee

Today, upon returning home from school and work, I found three things of glee in my mailbox.

1) My new issue of Discover magazine. It is a magazine that makes me happy. I've never read a Chatelaine or a Redbook or a Cosmo -- and I'm pretty sure I couldn't, not without experiencing some sort of narcoleptic fit -- but I sure do love my science/technology magazines.

No, I'm not like the other girls.

2) A postcard from [livejournal.com profile] thefourthvine. Thank you! I don't know what a "daughter of the regiment" is either, but I wouldn't want to meet her alone at night in a dark alley. Swords just instill that reaction in me.

3) A letter from the Dean's Office in Engineering. You, dear reader, might recall that I had an awful, no good, terrible, very bad year, but: I made the Dean's Honour Roll. In Engineering. SQUEEEE!

No, I'm not like the other girls.

You've just got to pick the right other girls. *waves Scientific American* And yay! for the Honours Roll!

(A son/daughter of the regiment is usually the child of a dead member, whose education/expenses are met by the regiment.)

Thank you! And when I graduate, and I have lots of money, you better bet I'm getting Scientific American as well.

Good to know, thanks! She looked all het up to go, so I really wasn't sure.

*twirlspinwhirls* Thank you!

You've always had a bit more confidence in me than I've had in myself, though. This is possibly not health.

But! HEEE! *twirls*
