Hi! Hello! I'm back!

My new computer is very, very, shiny. It is fast and has a 13-inch screen and I have a new iPod and OMG, my iBook had a 800MHz processor and this one has a 2.0GHz intel duo. It's possible its name is Fred. Or Ignatius. Or Roxy. I can't decide.

So, what were you guys up to the last two weeks? Got married, got a new puppy, wrote a new story? Fill me in.

Text Edit... is just not a word program, not really. It isn't. And something went wrong whilest they were transfering my HD, and now PS doesn't recognize I'm it's *cough* legal owner. *cough*

As for Beirut, I think I have most of Gulag Orkestar. It's kind of fabulous, isn't it? (PS: Was there anything else you'd like particularly? Type or artists or anything of the like?)

Agh, that sucks. I know that can happen sometims if you transfer Adobe stuff from an image instead of reinstalling. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to fix it - we just refer back to Adobe. (Which, um, might not be such a great fix for you. *g*) Maybe uninstall and then reinstall from a disc, if that's how you got it?

Beirut is all kinds of fabulous, yes--thank you very much! As for other stuff, wow...hmm. Summertime always puts me in a folky sort of mood, but I tend to like whatever you rec me, so I'll leave it up to you. Yay new music! :)

Anything you want that I might have?

Passing me off to Adobe may not work too well, no. *cough* I shall have to attempt to reacquire it.

Hrm, music. I am rebuilding my music library, and now that I have a bigger iPod I can actually rip more of my CDs -- my music collection is massive, you have no idea -- so I'm on a bit of an alt/indie rock kick, and a lot of stuff from way back in the nineties. I'm afraid the folk section of my library is rather reduced at the moment. :( I have some, and I shall provide, but for reference -- where are you on rock/alt rock/indie/dance/classica/hip hop/country?

(As you can tell from the above, my folk collection could use a bit of a fleshing out at the moment. Was there anything you particularly liked or didn't like? I am having a hard time remembering what I put on there last time, so you may get some duplication.)

I am good with rock, alt and idie; not so into dance; great with classical, especially if it's chamber orchestra, quartet or choral; okay with country, provided it's big on irony and has good melodies (I like some Dolly Parton, for instance, but not so much Shania Twain *g*); and I have a love/hate relationship with hip-hop, which seems to be entirely whim-based and hasn't got much to do with the goodness or not-goodness of the performer. I do seem to enjoy the bhangra-based stuff more reliably than other kinds, though.

Should I hook you up with some folk stuff? Wheee, okay. What do you like? Singer/songwriters? Bluegrass? Traditional celtic stuff? "World" music? *digs into the music collection*

Hrm, I can definitely do alt/rock/indie -- a lot of what I'm thinking of throwing on their has a nineties-ish vibe, nothing too punk or hardcore. A lot of my classical is full symphony, I'll do a bit of sorting; I tend to pick my country on beats (not a Shania fan, but I'll avoid the Big and Rich and the Toby Keith).

If you wanted to hook me up with some folk and world music, that would be absolutely amazing. I absolutely adore Dar Williams and Sufjan Stevenson, have a fondness for Celtic, am on a little bit of a east Indian kick, and tend to be interested in fusion music, strong lyrics, and things with minor tonalities.

... Yeah, basically what I'm saying is that I'm easy.
