Jan. 18th, 2006 09:53 pmI'm picking the brains of my flist once more.
I received, for Christmas, a gift certificate to McNally Robinson bookstores. (This is awesome, because I am not allowed to go there with my wallet.) There are a few novels I'm interested in, but I'm looking for a few suggestions.
What have you read lately that blew your mind?
If it helps any, I've recently been blown away by:
House of Leaves by Mark Danielowski
Godstalk and Dark of the Moon by PC Hodgell
Plays Well With Others by Allan Gurganus
Going to Bend by Diane Hammond
Also, Brokeback Mountain is still not playing here. *sulk*

Date: 2006-01-19 03:21 pm (UTC)Not even at Broadway or Roxy? That sucks. I was going to look for it the next time I went into S'toon.
And me too. My family hates it when I slot time for MR because I go in and I never want to come out. lol

Date: 2006-01-19 06:59 pm (UTC)(The Roxy is so incredibly neat. It's renovated back to its original historical form, the seats are comfortable, the screen is huge, and the decor is just *cool.*)

Date: 2006-01-19 10:53 pm (UTC)Same price as the Rainbow, but way cooler decor and a bigger screen. Only problem is that it's way less convenient for me, and only shows two movies at a time. My one friend and I have decided it's our new place, though.
(My friends and I go to a LOT of movies. Can you tell?)
When I see Brokeback is in theatres, I'll try to remember to drop you a comment, m'kay?
